Epigenetics is the study of how environmental factors and our behaviors can cause changes in how our genes work. Think of it as a layer of information on top of your DNA that tells your genes how to behave. What you eat, drink, and think can dramatically impact your DNA, not to mention, what you breathe, wear, and who you interact with.
