It’s that time of year again- many jump in to create some new resolutions or goals, trying to inspire them to create lasting change in their lives in any or all realms. However, as you well know, many abandon these goals quickly. In fact, it’s estimated that only 8% stick to their resolutions. For years, I struggled, too. Today, this blog is going to focus on the new, inspiring way of the creation process that has fueled and transformed my habits consistently.
I was thrilled when I delved into the world of visualization, inspired by Napoleon Hill’s teachings in “Think and Grow Rich.” Crafting a vivid visualization for my future, engaging all five senses, filled me with inspiration. However, the actualization of these visualized goals proved trickier than expected, leading to the eventual abandonment of this practice.
Additionally, even SMART goals, although they are to be Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound, for me were missing something vital. For one, the WHY of the goals was missing. I might be able to crank out a SMART goal, but if it wasn’t grounded in my own personal values, it did not stick!!
The introduction of the “Power of Creation Principles” reignited my enthusiasm, offering robust tools for daily life creation. These principles, applicable not just to health but to every aspect of life, acknowledge our holistic nature. To achieve optimal vitality, addressing our entire being—spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical health—is paramount. I found that I could align my values with these creation principles and really create something more powerful and lasting!
Creation Principles in Action
Recalling the Creation Story in the Holy Scriptures, God employed both spiritual and physical creation principles. The spiritual creation involved “see, say, and feel,” mirroring the step-by-step creation of the world, light, firmament, water and land separation, plants, animals, and humans. Subsequently, God employed physical creation, the “do,” to shape each element of our world.
Understanding this detail is vital, especially considering the struggle many face with New Year’s resolutions. Resolutions often falter because both spiritual and physical creation principles are not fully embraced. While activities like going to the gym or choosing healthier foods constitute the physical aspect of creating something new, the absence of spiritual creation, aligned with our values causes these efforts to wane rapidly.
The Iceberg Analogy
Think of your daily creations like an iceberg; most of it lies beneath the waterline. The underwater portion represents spiritual creation. Before embarking on the “do,” we need the clarity of “see, say, and feel.” Real changes above the surface necessitate altering what lies beneath.
Mahatma Gandhi wisely stated, “Your beliefs become your thoughts, your thoughts become your words, your words become your actions, your actions become your habits, your habits become your values, your values become your destiny.” Can you see how our beliefs can create one big iceberg that we can crash into as we try and implement New Year goals? Monitoring and transforming our thoughts is critical to optimize our creative powers.
Identifying who I wanted my Future Self to be, do, and have, interconnected with my values, allowed me to visualize myself and my life in a much deeper, more committed way. My first introduction to this process was aided by Brooke Snow’s amazing Future Self Meditation in her Co-Create app. I still use it to this day when I want to integrate new ways of being into my life.
Engaging in Daily Creation
It’s crucial to recognize that we engage in daily creation, whether consciously or not. Our creative powers can uplift, foster growth, induce positive change, and propel us upward on all levels -spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical. Or, if we are not careful, these powers can also contribute to negative thought patterns and habits on all levels, too. Reread the words of Gandhi.
Integration of Spiritual Creation:
When we integrate spiritual creation into each level, it takes a transformative form. This is how we incorporate the See, Say, Feel, and Do of Creation to impact our vitality on all levels -spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically.
Spiritual: To See
Mental: To Say
Emotional: To Feel
Physical: To Do
Conclusion
As we launch into a New Year and contemplate what we’d like to shift, uplevel, improve, and the results we’d like to produce, incorporating spiritual creation into your daily habits is paramount. Aligning your values with intentional creations empowers you to transcend limitations and live a life that reflects your true potential. So here’s to you creating and fulfilling new possibilities for 2024!
